- 3/4 cup butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg, seperated
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 2 teaspoons grated orange zest
- 1 1/2 cup flour
- 3/4 cup sliced almonds
- 2 tablespoons honey

- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Beat butter and sugar until light. Beat in salt, egg yolk, almond extract, and orange rind. Add flour and mix until just combined. Press over the bottom of a parchment lined 9”x13” pan. Beat the egg white until frothy and brush over the dough. Sprinkle the almonds evenly over all and bake for 30 minutes.
- Brush with 2 tablespoons of honey and bake for 15 minutes more. Cool slightly and cut into squares.
